Well, I finally started a blog. I found that I kept forgetting to tell other family members and friends things, so hopefully this will keep everyone up-to-date. Plus, I didn't think old high school people on Facebook would care about my kids' tantrums or fun firsts as much as those closer to me would.
So this week has been quite eventful. Jacob sprouted his two bottom front teeth within a couple days of each other, and although he's eager to chew, I think it hurts, too, so he's being careful about what goes into his mouth. He's not crawling yet, but he rolls and creeps on his belly to get to where he wants to go. Any day now, the baby gates will have to come out. I got out the Pak n Play yesterday for the family room since there are so many of Madison's tiny toys around. I wish I had one of those baby corral things, which is really just an overpriced bunch of plastic baby gates hooked together in a big circle.
Madison started her first day of "big school" yesterday. She looked so cute in her uniform but so small compared to all those big kids. I think she had fun during the day, but it must have been overwhelming for her, too, because she had a meltdown when she got home. I held her while we rocked in the glider, and she finally calmed down and told me about her day. She seemed a little better today, wanting to go in by herself. I had no desire to cry while dropping her off, but I got a little misty during the day without her. I've kept her home with me the last couple of weeks and was getting used to her being there.
So get ready for that fall school fundraiser, folks! She is supposed to sell at least 15 things (what kind of thing I do not know). And save all your Campbell's labels and Box Tops for Education. Her library buys a ton of books and equipment with the money they get (I think they said $1000 worth of stuff last year!).
